How to get there

By Foot or Bicycle: A 30-minute walk from Newcastle train station; An 11-minute bicycle ride from Newcastle train station.

By Bus: No. 1 from John Dobson Street, buses every 10 minutes - bus stop right next to the Star and Shadow

• Nos. 51, 52, 306 & 307 from Haymarket, buses every 10 minutes - drop off at the top of Grantham Rd, 6-minute walk to the Star and Shadow
• No. 38. From John Dobson Street, buses every 12 minutes - drop off at the top of Grantham Rd, a 6-minute walk to the Star and Shadow

By Metro:

• Get off at Manors - a 15-minute walk to the Star and Shadow
• Get off at Chillingham Road Metro - a 24-minute walk to the Star and Shadow

Parking:

Warwick Rd

• By Star & Shadow –  permit OR 1 hour only free parking
• Across road from Star &  Shadow – double yellows OR 60p per hour
• Star & Shadow car park (side of building) – some spaces

Newington Rd

• Appears to be free –  however, might get full as residents park there

PLEASE NOTE: the Portland Road area is authorised only for the students in the various accommodation blocks - the signage is not very prominent, but don't be tempted to take the risk!
