About the event
Calling all plant folk, plant curious or plant oblivious!
Ever passed a plant a thousand times and wondered who they were? Need inspiration to grow new plants or just some advice? Want to understand more about the uses and history of plants in your landscape?
Then join us to share all things plants in this monthly series of gatherings.
We'll start with a gentle walk in a local plantscape, this time Heaton Park in Newcastle, learning and sharing about all things plant related, from ornamentals to food and wild plants, from stalwart street trees to the diminutive plant beings poking out of pavements.
Afterwards we'll head to a local plant-based space where we can connect, discuss and imagine alternative plant futures. This time we'll be heading to the fabulous Star and Shadow Cinema, where as well as the Sunday cafe with vegan food and drinks, there will be a summer market happening and their annual plant sale too.
Sunday Plant Club is intended to inspire you about the plant world, the stories of where plants come from and how we can work with them. We hope to share knowledges and insights about the plant world around us and more importantly inspire earth connection and food system change.
Only your curiosity is required!
Location
Meet outside Sambuca pavillion in Heaton Park, Jesmond Vale Ln, Newcastle upon Tyne NE6 5JS.
